The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.
Its message is based on the Bible.
Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.
The social service arm of our organization provides assistance to the less fortunate of our community in the form of rent/mortgage assistance, utility assistance, weekly food boxes (given to families once, every other month) and travelers assistance (gasoline/bus tickets). The ecumenical arm of our organization reaches out into the community to provide life skill training and encouragement for at risk youth through character building programs, summer residential camp and summer vacation Bible school. These children are fed a hot meal during our weekly meetings. We also reach out to women in our neighborhood to provide added encouragement and further life skill training in regards to debt management, nutrition, and parenting. These meetings are open to all in the community, regardless of church membership and without discrimination.
