MHDS/Madison Haywood Developmental Services

Who We Are

MHDS, established in 1972, provides services to 270+ West Tennesseans with intellectual and other disabilities with support from 450+ staff.

What We Do

MHDS's person centered programming includes:   Facility/Community Based Day Services provided in our locations in Madison, Haywood & Hardeman counties or in a public setting.  We coach participants in basic social, self-help and adaptive skills to allow better integration in residential, social and work environments.  Vocational skills development is achieved by completing work recruited from local businesses including assembly, sorting, packaging, mailing and salvaging.   Supported Employment helps persons secure and retain employment in a public setting. Supported Living provides 2-3 person managed homes staffed to the occupants needs including meal preparation, housekeeping, financial management, personal grooming, appointments and nursing.  Personal Assistance provides the same services in the community or in a private home.
